Description / Expertise

Each of quatrefoil shape, painted on the front in iron-red, rose-shaded yellow, blue, green and pink with a Continental coat of arms beneath a stylized coronet, and on the reverse and sides in famille-rose enamels and gilding with flowering peony and chrysanthemum plants growing by rockwork, all between brown and gold fretwork bands above foot and around rim edge, the foot (each with drain hole at the back) and flat rim decorated with turquoise trellis diaperwork interrupted with green and pink-centered white flowerheads alternating on the foot with elongated piercings above an iron-red dentil band around the footrim, and on the flat rim with four oriental landscape panels, the base pierced with a drainage hole.
