Description / Expertise

Gabriel Felling is recognized as one of the most outstanding provincial goldsmiths working in the late 17th and early 18th century. He is recorded as a goldsmith of Bruton, Somerset, between 1678 and 1714, and started his career in London working for John Cassan who is recorded by Heal as "Silversmith to the King". Felling's name appears in the London Goldsmiths' Company Court Minute book of April 11, 1676.

The arms are those of Strode impaling Bridger.
