Description / Expertise
Arabesque wallpaper designed by Réveillon in 1789 (drawing #692) on hand painted pale blue background. Wood-block printed by Jacquemart et Bénard, successors of Reveillon.
Manufacturer’s stamp (“RJB”) and hand-written “11 Messidor” of Revolutionary calendar appear at bottom of paper, indicating post-1792 production.
